Our new studio is located in Northern Baltimore County in the equestrian town of Monkton convenient to I-83. Our beautiful historic building sits on 8 gorgeous acres to allow for indoor studio portraits with our unique sets and natural-looking studio lighting as well as outdoors on private property with very well-established trees and greenery, stone walls, and even a stream runs through. We've opened our studio to be the perfect destination for unique and classically beautiful portraits that are often imitated but never duplicated. Watch the slideshow to the right for a peek of what's available. Before booking your session, please consider whether you would like studio style images or outdoor images. Jodie typically photographs both, weather permitting, at her studio. Please visit the studio tab at the bottom of this page for more information on the studio and property surrounding. Your session will last up to two hours to allow for multiple clothing changes or snack breaks for young children. Jodie wants you to feel at ease and not rushed so that she can capture natural images of your family. About 3 weeks after your session, you will be able to view approximately 30-40 images in your own personal on-line password-protected gallery. Depending upon what type of products you order, delivery may take up to eight weeks, or up to 12 weeks for a custom coffee table book. Clothing Choices... Clothing choice is a very important part of creating beautiful timeless portraits. If you would like to keep with a classic look, avoid logos, stripes, or other distracting patterns or color combinations. Textured clothing is a better choice. If, however, you were considering a more trendy look for your children, that is fine too and a lot of fun. Feel free to bring multiple changes of clothing or even put all the ideas in a bag and bring them - Jodie can help with this decision. Feel free to bring some extras such as knit hats, scarves, favorite toys for some more variety and fun. A Word on Newborns.... If you are wanting your newborn to have that "curled" look in his/her photos, please understand that babies are best photographed during the first two weeks after birth. During this time, they "curl" and have that special freshly born look that won't be there for long. If this is the look you want your newborn to have, please contact Jodie before you give birth if possible. A Word on Pregnancy Portraits... Everyone has their own comfort level. We photograph everything from fully clothed to tasteful nudity. We do provide fabric for wraps, and ask that you bring anything you may want to see in the photographs. |
