BALTIMORE MARYLAND NEWBORN AND BABY PORTRAITS

Baltimore Maryland Newborn and Baby Photographer, Jodie Otte, specializes in photographing very newly born babies.  It is very important to think ahead when considering having your newborn photographed.  Babies are best photographed when they are under 2 weeks old.  That may seem very early, but that is when babies retain their very curled newly born look.  By the time a baby reaches 3 weeks of age, she will "uncurl" and that is when colic and baby acne may begin. 

During a typical newborn photo session, please remain as relaxed as possible, as your baby will sense if you are nervous or frustrated.  It is very normal for babies to cry during these sessions, and Jodie books a solid two hour slot for this type of session; however, sometimes the session extends a bit past two hours, and that is okay.  Most of the session is feeding the baby and/or rocking to sleep.  Jodie strives to capture images of your baby relaxed and comfortable whether awake and bright eyed or sound asleep and peaceful.

While under two weeks is ideal, sometimes things happen and we have to wait a little longer.  That is okay.  The session may be a little more difficult and we may not get the perfect curl, but beautiful images will still happen.

We also welcome mom and dad to join in as well.  While traditional smiling-at-the-camera portraits can be taken, Jodie prefers candid style images or images that evoke a bit more emotion...
